I've got a writer who's keen to do re-writes for a short film of mine, but wants a contract stipulating that he's entitled to some money if the budget exceeds a certain amount.
Does anybody know a good place to get some filmmaking contract templates that handle this type of thing?
I'm not keen to invest any money in this yet by getting a lawyer involved. I think the writer just wants something on paper as a formality.

Not for Oz...
You can try finding some through your local artist co-op or film maker group.
Here in the USA ifp.org offers a list of lawyers that will do pro bono work.
Good Luck

I would strongly recommend to get a lawyer involved as you can get into really hot water over such things. Good contract lawyers and accountants are worth their weight in gold.
